Lumix Compact Cinema Camera Coming in May - 2 new cameras total!

Two brand new Lumix cameras are coming in a month, on or around May 13th according the gossip columns over at l-rumors and Asobinet.

One has been confirmed by sources to be a new compact cinema camera akin to the Sony FX3, full frame but with better performance than the current S5iiX however NOT the successor to the S1H everyone has been anticipating.

It sounds like Lumix is starting an entirely new lineup, this could be the result of last year's merging of consumer camera and cinema divisions within Panasonic. The cinema department was reported to have been working on an eva-1 successor or an fx like lineup but development was stalled with preference made to the S5ii and GH7 lineup. Now that those cameras have been released and the S1 lineup is getting it's mark ii roll out, this may be a sign that Panasonic is starting to finally mark industry-wide camera trends off their list.

As a reminder the other rumored cameras is a fixed lens S9, targeting the internet popular X100VI , there were also hints at an more affordable MFT model, details on that are still unclear however.

Image is of course a mock-up design, borrowing from design choices of the s9 and s5iix releases. NOT made with AI, in case anyone is curious.😏

What do you think? Does this sound legitimate, what could the second camera be? Is it a follow up or once more a completely new lineup release? Will the new cinema lineup have support for Arri LogC3?
