BIG News about the Panasonic 18-40 LENS + S5D?

L-Rumors has come in with another round of gossip for us and their bar of certainty has gone up to 80 percent for the following information: 

Panasonic WILL be releasing multiple products on October 8th. 

1 lens and 1 camera body and a firmware update for Lumix Lab has been confirmed. 


 

The hardware will most likely be the official release of the 18-40 lens the S9 community has been waiting for, + a new S5 like update. 

Yes S5, not an S1Hii. That cam is still possible but as it stands, maybe not as likely based on L-rumors sources. 

This new camera will be targeted at existing S5 mark 1 users and S9 users. Currently referred to as the S5D. 


It will have a new OLED EVF. Not much else is known though. One l-rumor source suggested "The S5d rumor is correct but will not be a new launch. It will replace the S5 with updated Oled evf. So at lower price a beautiful evf can be released which was not available for S9. This will be photography version of S9 more than new S5." 

What will be the price of this new cam, you ask? $1599 with kit lens.
