New LUMIX app rumor - Social Sharing and LUT database done right?

If you're familiar with camera manufacturer applications for phones, then you know how they can really be a hit or miss.  Mostly they've been a miss due to lagging software and sporadic updates which may mean years until such an app can be usable (as in the case with Fuji) and in most cases are still problematic.

Panasonic have a chance to change that and set a good example.

Thanks to L-rumors, there's a new app on the horizon by Lumix, which may be announced tomorrow.

It's the Lumix LUT app (name unconfirmed), which will contain a series of LUTS you can download and send over to the camera. Some have been developed for movies first while others for stills. Supposedly Lumix has teamed up with film makers and creators to create a series of signature luts including film simulations. (this may hint to either a future official lut marketplace or subscription).

Once you send the lut over to your camera (S9 for now, though it may be compatible with the g9ii and s5ii/x from the get go as well, after firmware updates), you will get a choice with vlog whether to bake in the lut or just view it. You will also have the choice of using any luts, and post directly to socials from the app as well. There will also be a new file format, which is mp4 lite, as an option that will allow you to send 4k vids to phone and post to social via the app.
