New Sony rumor - large aperture 24-70 f/2.0 GM ?

Per Camera beta and SAR, 

One of the Sony's lenses to be released this year is the large aperture 24-70 f/2.0. 

This is a comparative lens, in size as well, is the Canon rf 28-70mm F2L USM (https://amzn.to/49GIZT5 ), but wider at 24. 

 

Is this perhaps Sony's way of acknowledging demands by video shooters ?

Will the image be sacrificed by such a large aperture?  Let us know what you think.

 

Expected msrp around 3k , release within the next few months.
